What Makes Living in a Condominium Nice?

Today, we’re gonna talk about what makes living in a condominium nice.

For most people in the Philippines, living in a condominium seems like a foreign thing, we’re always used to living in a house, growing up here with our siblings, you know? Having a house seems like a dream that everybody wants to have. But nowadays, so many condos have sprouted in the business districts and is becoming more and more of a trend.

Today, we’d like to discuss why this has become a trend and why it becomes more convenient or probably a preferred property type for most people living in the Philippines.

So today, we’ve come up with five reasons why living in a condo could be an amazing option to live in.

First thing is top-notch security. Most condominiums have 24/7 guards that are stationed at the gates and around the property. Now in addition to this, we also have roving guards that go around the property. Not to mention, most condominiums are also equipped with the latest technology such as RFID, CCTVs, in addition to the perimeter walls, all of which makes it a safe area to reside in.

For security guards, hiring one on your own could be really costly. If you’re gonna hire one or two, you’re gonna have to worry about management, hiring, firing, or probably training them that could be quite a difficult job to do, in addition to what you already do for a living everyday. Even if you try to get from an agency, there’s still that factor of needing to trust the person and manage the personnel as employees, including issuance of payroll and remitting of proper SSS, Philhealth, Pag-ibig, and other government duties due between employer and employee. In a condominium, they’re just simply there to make sure that you guys get safe.

Now second key security feature is the access cards. Normally, new condominiums like now operate like a hotel, they have the access card keys that you can use to open the unit and you can use it so that the elevator will only open up to your floor and/or the amenities and common areas. So, what we’re saying is that there’s really more of a privacy involved living in a condo as opposed to some people saying that living in a condominium encourages less privacy… because of these access cards’ security features, you are only able to access the portions in the condominium where you’re actually allowed, that enables you to live a safer & private life.

Third is 24/7 CCTVs,  you could always install a CCTV in your home but to actually have someone who’s gonna monitor it, check it, watch it 24/7 would be quite an impossible task. Or perhaps, at the very least, to monitor CCTV on your own if there are some activities happening in and out of your home, could be VERY tedious.

BUT in a condominium, this is provided as a basic service.

So most condominiums, they have a CCTV, they have security guards, they have access cards and this completes the circle of security which is just one of the major points why living in a condominium could be good.

It’s also mostly preferred by those who are busy. So that when you go out of the town or you go out of the country, it’s just a lock and leave concept, you don’t have to worry about somebody breaking into your home or you don’t have to worry about hiring someone who’s gonna be guarding your home or probably even stealing from you.

It’s just such a convenient lifestyle. You can [more often than not] leave it to the security system, and you don’t even have to train or manage these people.

Second reason why it’s nice to live in a condo is convenience.

Now, the property values where these condominiums are usually seated are quite high. So, just to explain a bit, for any developer to build a house and lot or to sell vacant lots would not be the highest and best use of the land land… so, in effect, they usually build units on top of each other and this results to the property type being a condominium.

Now since highly valued land is usually seated at the business district, it more often happens that condominiums are situated in bustling business districts with highly valued locations.

Now, having said that if your condominium’s placed in the business district that would mean it’s gonna be so convenient for you because you’re at the center of mostly everything. Most condominiums that we know that are seated, for example in Makati City, Ortigas or in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), are walking distance from the commercial areas, a very short distance from good schools, walking distance from groceries, banks, or even offices. So, if you’re trying to purchase a condominium for convenience, that could actually be one of the good reasons to live in a condo.

So, as far as the convenience is concerned, a condo really does well in this field.

The second portion of convenience is about maintenance. What we have to understand is that nothing ever cleans itself automatically. Each property, of course, in due time, will require maintenance.

So, if you’re talking about simple cleaning, or repainting, changing the tiles, changing the knobs, fixing the walk paths, corridors – all these will happen in time to any property or community.

The maintenance for your own house – you have to worry about these things every so often: you have to do everything by yourself because no one will fix it for you. But if it we’re to happen in a condo, you have the convenience of not worrying about this because you have an admin or you have a condominium corporation who has to fix this for you.

So, basically when it comes to maintenance, it’s their job to make sure everything looks nice and everything is all the same.

This translates to having a nice place to stay in, and it is well maintained in top condition… it’s also at the center of everything , and you don’t have to worry about making it look nice every so often.

If it were a house, you have to worry about cleaning the pool, mowing the lawn, repainting the home, fixing the knobs, checking the windows, all of these things.

So, when it comes to a condominium, it really offers a lot of convenience for its residents in many facets.

Third reason are amenities.

The amenities in a condominium sometimes offer so much more than a simple house could.

In a house, yes, you can actually build your own gym & /or you can actually have your own pool. BUT in a condo, the developer would most likely build a bigger, better pool, or provide much more gym equipment or a bigger yoga studio, in addition to the bigger and international-sized playing courts they have.

There are just so much more options. Sometimes, some condos we know even have a full fledged underground, air conditioned indoor Basketball Court, Badminton Court, a Tennis court, and play area – all of which could be quite a challenge to build inside your own home.

In other condos that we’ve seen, you can have seven pools, five swimming pools, even kiddie playing areas which are quite made up to international standards.

So, the condos offer top notch amenities that the ordinary house cannot exactly offer.

So, in this modern day and age, we have ample living space, we have top notch amenities, and it’s located at the center of everything.

We’re beginning to se the full picture of how a nice life would be in these properties, right?

Fourth, finishes.

Most of the condominiums nowadays, most especially the high-end ones, they have really upscale finishes. They mostly feature European-Grade finishes on most of these high-end condominiums. These include upscale bathroom fixtures, expensive stone countertops, durable flooring, etc.. and most of these are just part of the basic package when you buy a condominium.

So, when you’re trying to purchase one, the “hassle of deciding” which finishes you need to mix and match, or to choose, is taken cared of by a professional way ahead of its delivery time.

You don’t need to worry about it. The condo usually features a standard finish that are already high in quality (in some condos in the city). Sometimes, you have a really good brands such as Hans Grohe or Kohler, among others. There are many brands and most of these developers, they’re really good at choosing which ones to put in their properties.

So, most of these properties already come with good finishes. It also gives you savings, so that when you try to hire an Interior Designer for your property, it’s not gonna be so expensive because good finishes are already installed.

Fifth and final and I think this is going to be one of the most important points as to why living in a condo is nice is you have a lot of time.

I know, I know it’s relative for some but in a lifestyle where your work is located in the same city or adjacent city where your condominium is, you don’t deal with long travel time, and it saves you a WHOLE LOT.

For some, the ride to work is as simple as an elevator ride or a walk to the office. This translates to YOU having so much more time in a day. And it really affects the whole lifestyle design of how you’re gonna go through your day.

So, in the morning, you wake up, you STILL have time to work out and eat breakfast, because you’re probably not rushing to work. You may even have time to spend time with your kids before they go to school.

You can probably get to the office within a 10-15 minute walk. Once you get there, you work, by 12, you have lunch. After lunch, you have another meeting and then, by 5 o’clock, you go pick up the kids…. at 7 o’clock, you go to have dinner, and go to the movies with your wife after dinner.

Before you know it, you’ve accomplished so much in your day, and you have also not forgotten to take care of yourself and your family. Amazing right?

You know, things like this can usually happen since condo’s are seated at the heart of the city. You don’t have to worry too much about travel time or planning out your day meticulously with the horrendous traffic in mind.

This is because you can just simply go spontaneous,  and whatever you might need: schools, commercial area, banks, offices are just walking distance or at worst 15-40 minutes from where you are. So, it enables you to have more time in your day or you can be able to maximize your day.

Well basically, it enables you to live your life.

What did we talk about today? First thing, we talked about top-notch security, you have access cards, you have CCTVs, you have 24/7 guards. Number two, we talked about  convenience since condos are at the center of everything.. you also don’t have to worry about maintenance. Number three, we talked about good amenities.
